Children are expected to read every day to an adult and a comment/signature is needed in their reading record. Reading records are to be handed in every day.
Homework will include; weekly spellings to be tested on a Monday and a piece of Maths/English homework to consolidate class work.
Whilst in Year 3, children are given the opportunity to go swimming. Swimming days for each class are:
Please make sure your child has their swimming costume/trunks (no baggy shorts), cap and towel. Children must ensure that their earrings are removed prior to swimming.
Children will have P.E/tennis session every Friday. In addition to this, when children are not swimming they will have a P.E. lesson on a Wednesday. Please ensure children always have their P.E. kits in school and earrings are removed on their P.E. days.
Times Table Rock Stars and Reading Plus
In class, children have access to Times Table Rock Stars, to help support their learning of multiplication facts and in preparation for the Year 4 multiplication assessment. Children can use their login details to also access Times Table Rock Stars at home.
Reading Plus is an online reading program to help develop fluency and comprehension skills. It is used weekly in school but children can also use their login details to access it at home and it is a great resource to develop their reading skills.
In this section you will find a range of English and maths tasks for children to complete, at home, as well as R.E. science and foundation subject tasks. Children can also go on TT Rockstars and Reading Plus.

It has been great to see so many of you using Reading Plus over the last week so please keep up your hard work and you will keep earning combos and moving up levels.

Welcome back to the summer term and we hope you have had a wonderful half-term break. This week, we have set a Ancient Egyptian project for you to complete as we know lots of you have really enjoyed this history topic. This project will continue over the next few weeks so that you have plenty of time to complete it.
This week, we will continue with the Ancient Egyptian project, which we set last week, for the history lesson. Please remember to keep using Reading Plus and Times Table Rockstars too. It is great to see the progress that is being made on these two programs! Keep up the hard work.

This will be the final week to complete your project before we move on to learning about other areas of Ancient Egypt. The Reading Plus weekly shout out is getting more and more names added so keep up the hard work.
I'm really not sure where the weeks are going and I can't believe we are almost at the end of June. It has been amazing to see the progress being made on Reading Plus, so many children have moved up a level over the last few weeks and many more are earning plenty of combos.
I hope you all enjoyed the Times Table Rockstars challenge with Mrs Darnton's class! It was certainly fun checking everyday to see how you were getting on. Remember to keep using Times Table Rockstars to continue learning your multiplication facts and quicken your recall pace.
